AkademikerPension is a member-owned pension fund, and its investment arm MPIM is likewise owned by the members.
MPIM is not out to increase earnings by chasing new customers, but we welcome all new customers who find the value offer and basic values of AkademikerPension and MPIM appealing.

All investment decisions at MPIM are characterized byAkademikerPension's responsible investment policy. We are moreover independent of commercial considerations, as we are not in the lending market or other markets. As a fund manager, the sole mission of MPIM is to generate high returns based on responsible investing.
MPIM is experiencing growing interest from new customers, who are attracted by our strong responsible investment profile and solid return record. From 2009 through 2018, MPIM has netted average returns of 8.4% per year.
Several of MPIM’s funds are managed internally by its staff of 25 investment experts, while the management of other funds is outsourced to external fund managers, who were carefully selected by MPIM for specific investment areas, such as US small-cap stock.
All external fund managers are bound by AkademikerPension’s responsible investment policy and are continuously being assessed by MPIM’s responsible investment team.
MPIM can ensure low costs for all our customers, because our expenditure on management and other costs were negotiated on the basis of AkademikerPension's entire portfolio of DKK 115bn. MPIM generally enjoys some of the lowest costs among institutional fund managers in Denmark, as we are not subjected to the high earnings requirements factored by commercial fund managers.
The day-to-day operation of MPIM is in the hands of Chief Investment Officer Anders Schelde, who is a Master of Economics and holds MBA degree. His experience includes 17 years with Nordea, of which 8 years were spent as CIO at Nordea Life & Pension.
